The symptoms of the starting infection are runny nose, sneezing, dry and itchy throat, pain in nasal cavities, cough, fatigue, exhaustion and often increased temperature. These symptoms are the first signals warning us about the starting infection. The outburst of the infection, so-called incubation period of a common infection such as cold is usually 36 – 72 hours. In this phase, the defense mechanisms of the body start fighting with the infection and put a strain on the activation, proliferation and multiplying of immune system cells.

The elimination of foreign substances by macrophages (phagocytosis), enzymatic processes and the production of antibodies are initiated. Should the body be weakened and the immune system not working adequately the incubation period is much shorter and the symptoms onset suddenly (from 10 to 12 hours).
