Additiva Vitamin C 1000mg Taste Blood Orange, 20 effervescent tablets

ADDITIVA^® Vitamin C 1000 mg effervescent tablets are a medicinal product. They are available exclusively in pharmacies and come in the fruity flavours blood orange and lemon.

Dosage

Dissolve one effervescent tablet per day completely in a glass of water and drink the liquid.

Power for the immune system

Vitamin C contributes to a normal functioning of the immune system and nervous system.

In addition, a vitamin C deficiency impairs immune responses, particularly chemotaxis, complement activation and interferon production.  Ascorbic acid improves the absorption of iron salts by reducing iron(III) ions and by forming iron chelates.

The antioxidant functions of vitamin C lead to biochemical interactions closely related to those of vitamin E, vitamin A and carotenoids. 

Valuable antioxidant

Vitamin C is essential for human life.

It helps protect cells from oxidative stress, as its components, ascorbic acid and dehydroascorbic acid, form an important redox system.

Vitamin C also contributes to the regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E.

Due to its redox potential (antioxidative effect), vitamin C acts as a cofactor in numerous enzyme systems (collagen formation, catecholamine synthesis, hydroxylation of steroids, tyrosine and exogenous substances, biosynthesis of carnitine, regeneration of tetrahydrofolic acid and alpha-amidation of peptides, e.g. ACTH and gastrin).

It thus contributes to normal collagen formation, for a normal functioning of the teeth, gums, skin and cartilage.

1000 mg vitamin C

Because of the high vitamin C dosage, the effervescent tablets are a medicinal product that can be used to treat diseases caused by a vitamin C deficiency.

Other ingredients:

The effervescent tablets also contain anhydrous citric acid, sodium bicarbonate, sorbitol, corn starch, sodium cyclamate, sodium saccharin, sodium riboflavin phosphate and flavouring.

Active ingredient: ascorbic acid.
Composition: 1 effervescent tablet contains 1000 mg ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Other ingredients: anhydrous citric acid (Ph.Eur.), sodium bicarbonate, sorbitol (Ph.Eur.), orange aroma with orange oil and maltodextrin, cornstarch, sodium cyclamate, saccharin sodium, povidone K25, colorants: orange yellow S (E110), azorubine (E122) and indigo carmine (E132).
Application: for the treatment of vitamin C deficiency diseases (e.g. scurvy).
Contraindication: hypersensitivity to ascorbic acid, orange yellow S (E110), azorubine (E122), or any of the other ingredients, calcium oxalate kidney stones, and certain diseases with increased iron storage (thalassemia, hemochromatosis, sideroblastic anemia).
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult doctor before use.
Side effects (unknown frequency): hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. respiratory problems, allergic skin reactions).
Warning: contains 321 mg sodium per effervescent tablet (people on low sodium/low salt diets should exercise caution) and 305.5 mg sorbitol (people with an intolerance to certain sugars should consult a doctor before use).
