Exams are an inevitable part of a student’s life, so how can we make this process less stressful?

Here are some very simple tips that help enhance memory and concentration and study more effectively for the upcoming testing:

  1. Eat more food that stimulates the brain. Such foods as leafy greens (spinach, broccoli, kale), fatty fish (salmon), berries and walnuts have been proven to protect our heart and blood vessels and stimulate brain function at the same time!

  2. Sleep regular hours. When people don’t get enough sleep, their attention and concentration abilities decline. This is very important during the preparation for the exams. Moreover, all study experts recommend that you should never study the night before an exam. According to science, sleep itself has a role in the consolidation of memory, which is essential for learning new information. That’s why we say “sleep on it”, when you are learning something!

  3. Limit screen time. Spending too much time in front of your mobile/desktop screen negatively affects concentration and might even lead to anxiety and depression.

  4. Get regular physical exercise. You might say it is difficult to find time for that when you are preparing for an exam, but short pauses of light physical activity (for example, 15 minutes of walking) will boost your study process. Research shows that physical activity can improve concentration in people of all ages.

  5. Moderate consumption of caffeine helps memory and concentration, but be careful not to overdo it! Taking too much caffeine can cause such side effects as anxiety, nausea and trouble sleeping.

  6. Drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated is vital for all human body functions and for emotional wellbeing.

  7. Keep your working space organized. It is easier to focus when you have enough room for your books and notes, adequate lighting and you feel comfortable.

  8. Start taking memory boosters. There is a wide range of natural supplements that can help your concentration and energy. They will help your brain to perform at its best to score good marks. Such ingredients as ginseng, fish oil, B-12, bacopa and ginkgo biloba are known for their positive effect on brain power.

Follow these four simple tips to increase your brain and memory power naturally and nail it!
